Indoor Soccer (Futsal)

What is Futsal?

Futsal is a Brazilian word made of the contraction of the 2 Brazilian words “Futebol” and “Sala”, which can be translated to “Football in Living Room” or “Football in a Room”. But important differences in the way the sport is played, a totally different game, with its own rules, redefines by FIFA, at the international level. The Fustal is not merely football played inside a gym with the same rules and the same ball. It is not the case, there are many differences.

Many great Brazilian and World football players (Pélé, Ronaldhino Gaucho, Messi, Kaka, Zico, Ronaldo el phenomeno) have played futsal in their youth and they are great spokemen of the advantages provided by Futsal in their development years.

What are the advantages of FUTSAL?

During a FUTSAL game, the players have the opportunity to take possession of the ball more often which helps them develop their techniques. The players must control and cannot afford to get rid of the ball often. The Futsal is a great school to learn the required techniques to play football.

The Futsal is the only recognized football game played in a gym by the FIFA. The 9 vs 9 and 7 vs 7 are not recognized by the FIFA.

Oscar, offensive middle player of the Chelsea team (English Premiere League) and of the Séléçao (Brazilian Football Selection) says of Futsal:
“I think Brazilian football has reached the level it has because of futsal. The pitch is smaller the goals are smaller.”

And Edson Arantes Donacimiento AKA Pélé, the best football player of all times has said of Futsal:

“Futsal was important in helping to develop my ball control, quick thinking, passing... also for dribbling, balance, concentration... Futsal was very, very important, no doubt.”
-Pélé, World Cup Winner: 1958, 1962 & 1970

FUTSAL is the game who is becoming the most popular in England. It is played as a development practice for football or just for the fun of playing FUTSAL. There is a World Cup of Futsal just like there is a World Cup of Football.
